Welcome to my latest Substack update! Which really is just sharing my old Medium publication newsletters. This one was from February 2022 - with some editing of course and removing of stuff that isn’t really relevant.
Non Fiction
I wrote 10 pieces of non-fiction, ranging from trying to find a new rescue dog to love; a complaint about people asking for follow-for-follow in the Facebook groups; the creation of a new Publication called Penny Press which encompasses a gamut of areas — mind, body, life and soul (and it’s accepting writers, so check it out!); living more mindfully; my life as an Introvert; how positivity can help you by more than just improving your mood but also your physical wellbeing; and a few pieces of inspirational quotes because we can all do with some inspiration, motivation and uplifting once in a while!

Fiction
I added a whole bunch of short fiction this month — 20 pieces to be exact! Mainly post apocalyptic/dystopian but also lots of sci-fi and also zombies (I can’t be the only person to like a good zombie story surely?!). A lot of these stories I wrote many years ago (circa 2015 I think).
The Dark & Shadowy Places — one of my fave short stories of mine — zombie fiction!
A Voice In The Darkness — a short thriller story
As You Mean To Go On — a Purge-esque inspired story
Dusk and Dawn — zombies. ‘Nuf said.
Ripe for The Picking — a creepy short story
What Is Normal? — dystopian/pandemic. This is relatable
A Long Way Down — Good ‘ol Sci-Fi
500 Words — a short 500 word mystery/thriller
A Stranger Calls — horror. Kind of?
Places, Camera, Action! — a short piece of flash fiction
Amethyst Auburn & World’s End — vampires!
A Beautiful Disaster — a paranormal short story
The Enemy Rule — more vampires!
Up, Up and Away! — A quirky superhero story
There Goes The Sun — myth/superhero/dystopian. Not really sure how to classify this one.
Mars — sci fi. Cuz it’s about Mars. Duh.
Twelve Mile Limit — sci fi/dystopian. Robots and all that.
The Spectre And other stories — 3 short dystopian/postapocalyptic pieces
Under A Starlit Sky — Steampunk!
What’s Love Got To Do With It? — Futuristic Sci-Fi/Dystopian
Poetry
I also shared 4 nature-inspired poems. I hope you enjoy them!
Solstice — self explanatory
Cosmic Rainbows — about the northern lights
Spirit Bear — about the elusive white grizzly bear
Freedom of Being — a poem about my old dog that we lost in 2019
I hope you enjoyed this latest compilation of my writings here! I’d love to know your thoughts - what did you enjoy the most?
Be well,
Caitlin
