Wonderful article (no pun intended)! Your words really connected with me and your writing style is very personable and comforting.
As I have gotten older, I have started to pay closer attention to those little moments of wonder in my day. Like this morning I saw 6 tiny bunnies enjoying the salad bar that is my yard. Also, I immediately added the Chödrön quote to my email signature!
I look forward to reading more of your thoughts and insights.
Thank you! I'm glad it resonated with you - and I'm so glad you liked the Pema quote and made it your email signature. I highly recommend her books - all of them are great!
And yes, as I've gotten older (i'll be 46 in September) I'm also starting to be more mindful of little moments of wonder. Awww that is so adorable! that there were 6 baby bunnies enjoying your yard! How cute! And I hope you like the rest of the stuff I put out, too :)
I love the idea of living with a dose of wonder every day. Sometimes, I go for walks and just drink in my surroundings with appreciation and wonder. It makes the world so beautiful.
yes!!! that’s so great! And you’re right, looking at the world around you with a dose of wonder DOES make the world so beautiful! (well, it already is, you’re just taking time to notice it :) )
I found your bullet points helpful and thought provoking. For me, living with a dose of wonder is taking notice of the ooos and ahhhs in life. Both may stop me in my tracks. The ooos may be unsettling and cause me to question and ponder. The ahhhs can be a glimpse of something beyond my understanding, it may make me feel small in its greatness as I marvel at it.
I needed to find this. Thank you for giving me a new way to look at things.
You're very welcome! Glad you enjoyed 😊
