The older I get and the simpler I live, the more I want to be sequestered in my house (preferably alone) and spend my day writing, cooking, organizing, cleaning, enjoying nature, and hanging with my pets.

I think all these years of leaving the house every day and driving an hour to work have taken a toll on me as an introvert. Now, I feel like I'm finally finding a happy place that feels more peaceful when alone. Going out is not something I enjoy any more - and I only leave the house once a week (maybe twice if I need more eggs or milk).

That's so great you no longer have to leave the house (unless you want to!), like daily for work…I am hoping that's how I will spend my time when I'm able to retire!

I hope so too Caitlin! This is one of the reasons I chose self-employment. After COVID, I really struggled to go back to being with everyone daily.
