Everyday I attempt to be the observer of life around me. To realize that this life isn’t just about me, I am part of a bigger tapestry. An alliance of animals, plants, rocks, water and even wind attempting to get me out of my mind. To slow me down and to give me the permission to be in wonder of the beauty that’s all around.
Currently, I’m staying at a friend’s house and she has deer that travel by every day. We watch them until we can’t see them anymore, they’re just being deer, but it brings so much joy. It’s takes us out of whatever mundane task we were doing and puts a smile on our faces.
Connecting with the natural world around you like that sounds beautiful. "Deer watching" could be an activity itself 😅 It's so soothing to watch animals just be themselves. It really brings me joy too. It's usually those moments that we didn't even plan for that mean the most to us. Some days are easier than others, but I'm doing my best to notice those moments of joy too ✨
Such a beautiful post Julia! I’ve started a practice called Daily Delights where I search for those glimmers every day and I find it really helps me to be instead of do and I am more of an observer. And nature of course!
Thank you so much for sharing some of my thoughts Caitlin! 💚🙏
You're so welcome, Julia! ☺️

Sometimes I find the fact that things are just business as usual to be a reason to be joyful with the right perspective 😉
